The EP kit is a heavy-duty high temperature resistant, clutch suitable for sport/race use and Moto-X. Since 1998 some models (denoted by 'S' suffix after part number) have been upgraded to have lined plates using a steel carrier body which should be located closest to the inboard or engine side of the clutch and compensate for over-load fractures which happen when the clutch basket wears or "spreads".
